The journey begins with the selection of the grains. Each type of grain contributes distinct flavors and characteristics to the final spirit. At our distillery, we meticulously choose the grains that will form the foundation of our spirits. Whether it's the sweetness of corn, the spiciness of rye, or the complexity of barley, the grains are the canvas upon which we create.
Book Your ExperienceOnce the grains are chosen, they are carefully milled to expose the starches within. Milling is a crucial step that prepares the grains for the mashing process. The type of mill used can vary depending on the grain, but the goal remains the same: unlock the potential for those starches to become fermentable sugars.
Book Your ExperienceMashing is where the magic happens. The milled grains are mixed with water and subjected to controlled temperature rests. This process dissolves the starch and allows enzymes to work their alchemical wonders, converting starches into fermentable sugars. The choice of temperature rests and enzyme activity play a pivotal role in shaping the spirit's flavor profile.
Book Your ExperienceIn the fermenter, the sugary mash meets yeast, which diligently converts those sugars into alcohol. The yeast's dance is a delicate balance, influenced by factors like sugar concentration, temperature, and yeast health. A successful fermentation is key to a flavorful distillate.
Book Your ExperienceDistillation is where the Grains to Glass process truly shines. The fermented mash is heated in stills, separating the alcohol from the other components based on their boiling points. Different types of stills and distillation methods can produce vastly different spirits, and at St. Petersburg Distillery, we employ techniques that capture the essence of our carefully chosen grains.
Book Your ExperienceAfter distillation, the spirit is carefully aged in barrels. This aging process allows the spirit to interact with the wood, gaining complexity, character, and depth. The choice of barrels and the duration of aging are art forms in themselves, and they greatly influence the final flavor profile.

Originally named the Florida Suncoast Dome, Tropicana Field's 1.1 million square feet include unique design features and fan amenities found nowhere else in Major League Baseball. The venue opened to the public on March 3, 1990, at a cost of $138 million. It became the ThunderDome in 1993 with the arrival of the area's National Hockey League expansion franchise, the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was renamed Tropicana Field on Oct 4, 1996, in accordance with a naming rights agreement between the Rays and Bradenton's Tropicana Dole Beverages North America.
"This area of St. Petersburg, the area around 22nd Street South and 9th Avenue South, was the former hub of black businesses, homes, and entertainment during the time of segregation. St. Petersburg’s 22nd Street, dubbed “The Deuces” after its double 2’s, was the heart of a vibrant and prosperous African-American community on St. Pete’s South Side. Having survived decades of blight caused by the construction of I-275, the heartbeat of this community is still strong. Deuces Live is a nonprofit organization created to revive and revitalize this historic neighborhood where Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday played, famous African-American baseball stars stayed and the black residents of St. Petersburg lived, worked and worshiped."
The Warehouse Arts District brings together a widely diverse group of artists, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and other creative minds to develop, promote and enhance critical components of this special part of St. Petersburg, “Where Art is Made.” The District is bounded by 1st Ave. N. and 10th Ave. S. between 16th St. and 31st St. Much of this area was industrial, populated with warehouses and small manufacturing companies. For decades, the Seaboard Railroad Station (now the Morean Center for Clay) was an important link between those businesses and their clients. However, in recent times many of the buildings sat empty and the area began decaying and falling into decline. Artists, always seeking studio space, saw potential in the area due to the large warehouses and proximity to other districts and areas in the city. Now, more than 200 artists and studios have found a home in the Warehouse Arts District.
