Creating this Orange Style Gin was not an easy task, especially while ensuring it was made naturally, free of colors and flavors, but the outcome is remarkable. This London Dry Orange Gin is a tale of two cities, imagine a Royal Guard on the beautiful Florida beaches.

First there is a wave of orange components, both zest and jam-like, then as that wave settles juniper and traditional London Dry components come forth.

Palate

The orange, a balance of both bitter and sweet, is constant through the palate while different London Dry Gin components appear throughout the tasting, juniper, angelica, and cardamom.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Old St. Pete Sunset Gin
Splash of Fernet
0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
Fresh mint
4 blackberries
0.5 oz simple syrup

Method

Add mint, blackberries, lemon juice, simple syrup, and Fernet into a mixing glass and muddle. Add gin and ice, then shake. Strain into a lowball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a sage sprig and blackberries. Let out a little cackle.
